WHO ARE LIONS

Lions are ordinary people who do extraordinary things to help others and support good causes. Globally we have more than 1.4 million volunteers, in over 48,000 clubs, in over 200 countries coming together as Lions International and love to help others and make things happen. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome.

Because we are local, we serve the unique needs of the communities in which we live. As we are global, we can address community challenges wherever they occur.

When it comes to meeting challenges - our response is simple: We serve. In over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior centres, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and in eyeglass recycling centres, Lions are at work, helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we're local, we can serve the unique needs of the communities where we live. And because we're global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders

We empower the next generation - whether it's providing volunteer and leadership experiences in a Leo club (between the ages of 12 - 30) or sharing a message of peace through our Peace Poster contest, our youth programs invest in the future by reaching out to young people.

We serve local communities – and protect the planet. From performing hands-on service projects to providing emergency assistance, our community and environmental programs improve our communities – and protect the environment.
