Hello and Welcome
TO LIONS DISTRICT 105A
Lions District 105A stretches from the areas of London (north of the Thames) Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. With over 1200 members and 66 clubs we serve our local communities and across the globe since 1965. We are friends and family who share a common passion "To Serve" and make a difference.
WHO ARE WE?
We are part of Lions International, which is the world's largest service organisation with no political or religious affiliations. We have over 46,000 clubs with 1.3 million members in over 200 countries and are made up of diverse volunteers who provide humanitarian services to vulnerable people. We strive to follow our motto "We Serve" and every penny we raise goes to the cause.
Lions International aim is to make a positive effect in five key areas :
Hunger - Lions volunteer to collect surplus food from various outlets to supply the food banks and the vulnerable. We provide meals to schools and the homeless.
Childhood Cancer - Supporting children with Cancer and their families. We have provided "Lions Den" in hospitals where there are no facilities for family to stay with patients.
Env – We care for our Environment with a number of environmental programs, such as recycling unwanted spectacles, tree planting and litter picking. Ensuring that local communities are healthy and sustainable.
Diabetes - Lions promote wellbeing: Promoting awareness of Diabetes and measures to prevent and mitigate it. We have stands at local events / Fairs to promote.
Vision – Vision has been a priority for Lions for nearly hundred years. We work to improve eye health and care for hundreds of millions of visually impaired people every year.

Brain Tumour Research is Kaushik's chosen charity this year.
He has carefully chosen this charity as it aligns with Lion's global cause of childhood cancer. Brain Tumour Research (BTR) is the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours as it affects 1 in 3 of us. BTR is based in Milton Keynes and is funding research centres across the UK. It is the partner charity for Lions Multiple District 105.
